Prologue
Many years ago, in a small island nation simply called The Isles, there was a mermaid named Aurora. The scales of her tail shimmered like the northern lights, and her hair glowed like the Sun. Mermaids had no way of walking on land, and as such they spent most of their lives underwater. Aurora, just like the others, had no interest in the surface world until she saved the prince of the country from drowning. She became the first, and only, mermaid to love a human. As she lamented the impossibility of her love she met the sea witch, who agreed to grant her legs in exchange for her voice. "However," she said, "should the prince ever marry another you shall return to the ocean as sea foam, and your life will end." Aurora swam to the service and was discovered by the prince, who reluctantly granted her shelter. Months passed and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't win his heart. He instead fell in love with a village girl and they decided to get married. As the prince and his bride said their wedding vows Aurora stood by the railing of the ship and watched the sun set. Her sisters held a knife out to her, begging her to kill the prince in order to save herself. She ignored them, and continued to watch the sun's light vanish as she faded to sea foam. The spirits saw her sacrifice and granted her a soul, leaving the sea foam passed. A thousand years passed and both the prince and the mermaid had been forgotten, yet still The Isles remained. And just as all sirens are formed, a siren was created from the sea foam remains of Aurora. A siren named Adamaris.

Welcome to my new story!
I haven't been able to post for the past 6 months due to a combination of being really busy and really lazy. This time I'm starting a series that I'm writing beforehand, and I'm going to try to focus on posting weekly. The first post will be the prologue, which will be this week or the next depending on if my computer cooperates. Further posts will be a mix of chapters and character descriptions once those characters have been introduced so I'll be able to plan a few chapters ahead. I'll post on my other stories when I manage to successfully balance this one, however Blood Eyes requires custom content that I won't always have room for so those postings will be sporadic. I really hope you enjoy my take on The Little Mermaid! :)
